McDermott International Inc. has announced that it has been awarded a sizeable technology contract by PT Chandra Asri Perkasa for the detailed engineering of eight proprietary Short Residence Time (SRT®) ethylene cracking heaters at the Chandra Asri Perkasa (CAP2) ethylene plant in Cilegon, Indonesia.

The unit will utilise Lummus Technology's SRT® pyrolysis heater technology to produce 1.1 million tpy of ethylene and 600 000 tpy of propylene. This award follows the company's announcement in April 2018 of a contract for the license and basic engineering of the ethylene plant at this facility.
