Honeywell earns highest CMMI rating
Honeywell has announced that its Building Solutions (HBS) and Process Solutions (HPS) businesses have been appraised at Maturity Level 5 of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), the highest and most prestigious level of global recognition in software development that a company can achieve.
CMMI is a process improvement appraisal framework administered by the CMMI Institute to determine the maturity of an organisation’s software and development processes. Approximately 6% of more than 6000 organisations with published appraisals have achieved Maturity Level 5 status.
‘To be appraised at Maturity Level 5 is a significant accomplishment that few companies have achieved’, commented Dan Sheflin, Chief Technology Officer, Honeywell Automation and Controls.
‘The CMMI rating is the highest form of third party validation that we can receive in software development, and our rigorous processes have led to as much as a 25% improvement in development cycle time for complex software projects. We are honoured to achieve this recognition’.
