Hydrocarbon Engineering,
Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex has signed an agreement with Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) to evaluate the potential for the shipbuilding complex to construct membrane systems for LNG storage, as well as acquire the GTT license for gas-carrier construction.
After training of staff responsible for the implementation of the project, the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex will fabricate a full-scale model of the GTT storage system and GTT will be able to decide whether or not to certify the shipyard.
Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex plans to launch production of gas carrier vessels that are unique for Russia. Their construction is one of the priorities of the shipyard’s production programme.
Gas carrier vessels may be in demand for a number of projects to develop offshore fields, as well as for transportation of natural gas produced in Russia.
