The HOT Energy Group, RED Drilling & Services, and Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz (CAC) have formed a partnership for underground energy storage applications (UEST). The consortium builds on the individual strengths, specialised know-how and cutting-edge solutions for natural gas, carbon dioxide and hydrogen storage.

Being a solution provider and project developer for underground storage applications, UEST aims at accelerating the implementation of hydrogen and carbon dioxide storage operations to support the energy transition towards a low/zero carbon economy.

UEST consolidates 95 years of corporate experience in underground gas storage (UGS), gathered in collaboration with storage operators, leading universities and research organisations.

“The UEST consortium is a centre of excellence and trusted partner for underground storage developers and operators, as it builds on decades of expertise and offers a well-rounded service portfolio – from prospect assessment and operational planning, drilling, workover and well engineering solutions, all the way through to surface facilities ‘concept to handover’”, said Dr Diethard Kratzer, CEO HOT Energy Group.
