Hydrocarbon Engineering,

AMETEK Land has promoted James Cross to the role of Global Industry Manager for the Hydrocarbon Processing sector (HPI).

Having worked at AMETEK Land since 2018 and reporting to the Director of Development and Product Management, James will continue to carry out his existing role as Regional Sales Manager – Middle East, whilst taking on new responsibilities for driving growth globally within the HPI sector. This includes working along the sales and marketing team to profile the market and gather customer data to steer the future product roadmap.

David Primhak, Director of Development and Product Management at AMETEK Land, said: “We are delighted to appoint James to the role of Global Industry Manager for HPI. He has a proven track record of developing new markets and his ability to understand customer requirements and provide innovative solutions will enable us to gain new business opportunities globally. HPI is a growing market for us and we wish James all the best in his new role.”

“This is an incredible opportunity to work with end-users, OEMs, EPCs, technology licensors, and our excellent network of global partners to ensure that AMETEK Land’s leading technology is implemented across the industry to make huge improvements to process quality, efficiency, and safety,” Cross said of his new role.

He added, “It is exciting to apply my 10 years of experience with high-temperature furnaces to HPI processes, such as hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production using steam methane reformer furnaces; ethylene production using steam cracking furnaces; and other processes including flaring, gasifying, sulfur recovery thermal reacting, and more. I am excited to start my new role and help customers in the HPI sector reach the highest standards of process safety, control, and product quality. I will work closely with our sales and marketing team to extend awareness of AMETEK Land’s innovative range of high accuracy monitors and analysers for industrial infrared non-contact temperature measurement, combustion efficiency, and environmental pollutant emissions on a global basis within the HPI sector.”

The recent opening of a high-temperature infrared calibration and service centre in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) adds to AMETEK Land’s expansive global service centre network and also supports its commitment to the extensive HPI sector in the Middle East region by offering local inspection, calibration, certification, and repair of all manufacturers’ infrared pyrometers, scanners, and thermal imagers.
