Honeywell UOP has announced that its Callidus® business, which specialises in thermal combustion products for the oil and gas industry, celebrated its 30th year developing technologies designed to meet more stringent environmental regulations.
Callidus was established in Tulsa in 1989 to provide advanced process burner solutions for the refining and petrochemical industries. Today, Callidus now provides a broad portfolio of engineered products and services, including flares that reduce visible emissions, burner technologies that minimise formation of nitrogen oxides, and thermal oxidisers to treat and dispose of carcinogenic and harmful waste products from industrial plants.
“As part of Honeywell since 2008, Callidus has grown to provide a broad spectrum of solutions by developing ground-breaking innovations that make it an industry leader”, said Ted Faiella, General Manager of Callidus Technologies. “We’re celebrating three decades of engineering excellence that has produced highly effective solutions that reduce emissions to deliver positive environmental outcomes.”
Since it was created, Callidus Technologies has earned nearly 50 patents while investing in its Tulsa-area operations and at a growing facility in China. Callidus equipment has been used in more than 300 plants globally. The business employs more than 200 people at facilities in Tulsa and Beggs, Oklahoma, and in Shanghai, China.
“Callidus is a key employer in Tulsa and has made significant contributions to our region’s economy over the last 30 years”, said Mike Neal, President and CEO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber. “We thank them for their long-term investment in our community, and we look forward to many more years of partnership and growth.”
