Intertek has opened a state of the art transformer oil (TFO) testing laboratory in South Africa, serving clients in Sub Saharan Africa and worldwide.

The Intertek TFO laboratory provides testing to local and international methods and standards, as well as trending reports that quickly indicate any changes in the condition of the transformer. A complete range of tests is available, from moisture/acid/dielectric strength to interfacial tension evaluation. Customers can select individual tests to suit their needs, or make use of cost effective test packages for the most common combinations of tests. Shipping of customers’ samples to the Jet Park, Johannesburg, based laboratory is easy to arrange, with prompt testing and reporting to clients.

“The extension of the TransoilCHECK™ programme into Africa is an important initiative which better supports our customers’ demand for critical and timely information,” said Robert Chapman, Global leader for Oil Condition Monitoring. “Intertek’s transformer oil monitoring laboratory and staff in South Africa bring years of expertise and an expanded range of industrial support services into a rapidly growing region of the world. Our goal is to exceed the customers’ expectations through innovative reporting and fast turnaround times.”
