ProSep delivers desalination technology to Norwegian field development project

ProSep has supplied three ProSalt™ units to Equinor for the Johan Castberg field development project, located on the Norwegian continental shelf in the Barents Sea.
The ProSalt technology incorporates ProSep’s proprietary MAX+ design, and will improve water savings and achieve required salt concentration.
ProSep’s mixers desalt the oil by mixing it with injected wash water in two stages: downstream of inlet/test separators, and downstream of a stabilisation separator.
The Johan Castberg project was the biggest offshore oil and gas development in 2017, with an estimated cost of approximately 49 billion Norwegian kroner (NOK).
