Sulzer has expanded its service offering in Saudi Arabia with the opening of its new service centre in Riyadh. Building on the company’s existing local pump manufacturing capabilities, this specialist facility will provide maintenance and repair services for all types of pumps. This latest investment will help customers in the region to optimise the performance and reliability of their equipment.
The Sulzer Saudi Pump Company’s (SSPC) manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia has seen considerable success in supplying the oil and gas, power generation and water sectors. Following this achievement, Sulzer has invested in a purpose-built service centre to support customers with after-market services including reverse engineering, rerates, spare parts management and maintenance contracts.
The service centre is equipped with all new machinery, including lathes, milling machines, balancing equipment, hydraulic presses and 20-tonne overhead cranes. Located on the same site as the pump manufacturing facility, the centre can also take advantage of the larger CNC machine tools, welding equipment and testing facilities next door.
Saeed Al Matar, Head of Pump Services at SSPC explains: “The local oil and gas sector will certainly benefit from this new facility. Sulzer also offers a retrofit service that enables customers to work with pump designers and optimise the performance of their equipment. For situations where production processes change, energy consumption needs to be reduced or performance enhanced, Sulzer can implement design changes in the most cost-effective way.”
In addition to the benefits available in the workshop, Sulzer also provides field services using fully equipped vehicles and experienced personnel to deliver on-site installation, fault finding and maintenance. Finally, the Riyadh service centre has the support of Sulzer’s global network of locations and experts, which can deliver a comprehensive range of services to all makes of rotating equipment. All of these services draw on Sulzer’s experience and expertise in design, manufacturing and operation to ensure customers optimise their productivity and reliability.
