John Crane Asset Management Solutions has secured a contract in the US to supply condition-based maintenance (CBM) services to a major oil refinery.
As part of the contract John Crane personnel will be deployed to a major Texas refinery from the company’s operational offices in Aberdeen, UK and Pasadena, Texas.
“This is a significant win for the company, expanding our business in the US,” said John Morrison, Managing Director of John Crane Asset Management Solutions. “Our staff will be working closely with the plant’s personnel to build up knowledge and processes before moving on, thereby leaving a legacy where the plant can leverage best practice and continue to deliver business value.”
John Crane is developing a reliability-based maintenance strategy for cost effective equipment operation and increased performance, based on the plant’s requirements.
The scope of work will see the company inspect the vibration and lubrication of equipment, assess conditions and data and make recommendations. The work also includes generating alerts to allow for planning and scheduling repair work, providing recommendations for maintenance or repair of equipment and increasing frequency inspections.
Through the implementation and active management of key asset monitoring, equipment performance measuring and advanced machinery diagnostics, the team’s insights will enable better asset utilisation and availability, freeing up the refinery’s staff to focus on the tasks critical for maintaining optimal operations.
Additionally, John Crane will help train the refinery’s people to ensure they have knowledge in leadership, data collection, project liaison, maintenance strategies and performance trending.
