Intertek Caleb Brett, a Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide and experts in qualitative and quantitative analytical assessment services to the oil and gas, chemical, and other commodities markets, is expanding its current inspection and testing services in St James, Louisiana with a new 5000 ft2 laboratory.

With its central location and access to pipeline, waterborne and rail systems, St James Parish is the crude oil hub of Louisiana. A premier asset on the lower Mississippi River with access to US and Canadian crude supplies, this location is vital for crude oil imports and exports enabling direct access for crude carriers, refiners, distributors and trade companies.

Located near the Plains All American Pipeline Terminal the new location is a response to a growing crude oil market and demand for quick and accurate turnaround. The laboratory will provide detailed crude oil quality analysis and testing in accordance with ASTM methodologies and retain services including indefinite retain capabilities. This will allow Intertek Caleb Brett to expand their capabilities along with the region’s expected growth. With a dedicated crew of trained inspectors onsite and reachable 24 hours a day, Intertek Caleb Brett can provide a fast response time for any vessel, shore tank or rail inspection service.

Flint Mathes, Intertek Caleb Brett’s Senior Director International Coordination, said: “As the demand for Total Quality Assurance services in St James, Louisiana grows, we are pleased to have achieved the opening of this laboratory. This launch is a great example of Intertek Caleb Brett’s commitment to expanding our network to better serve the needs of our customers while staying committed to the relationships we have already established in the area. This new facility allows us to cater to the needs of numerous parties with a state-of-the-art technology facility while we continue to provide our customers with the fastest turnaround times and accurate results in the region.”
