BASF has received approval for its Keropur® DP detergent technology in the TOP TIERTM Diesel standard. This is a highly efficient fuel additive chemistry that enables optimum performance in modern high pressure, common rail direct injection engines. Keropur DP helps to both minimise emissions and maximise power and fuel economy through engine cleanliness.
The TOP TIER Diesel standard was created by manufacturers of diesel engines. It provides cleaner and higher fuel quality to help modern diesel engines run efficiently and stay running at their designed performance levels.
BASF’s Fuel and Lubricant Solutions business offers fuel performance packages, refinery additives, polyisobutenes, engine coolants and brake fluids as well as lubricant additives, compounded lubricants, synthetic base stocks and components for metalworking fluids.
“BASF makes it a priority to provide customers with sustainable solutions in the dynamic environment of fuel standards and complex engine designs,” said Brian Lieberman, Vice President Fuel and Lubricant Solutions. “Many fuel marketers have realised the benefits of TOP TIER Gasoline. The TOP TIER Diesel program will similarly raise diesel fuel quality and provide a recognised standard to differentiate from lower quality fuels.”
