WorleyParsons adopts new brand name
Published by Tom Mostyn,
WorleyParsons has announced it is adopting a new brand, Worley, following the successful completion of the AUS$4.5 billion acquisition of Jacobs Energy, Chemicals and Resources division (Jacobs ECR).
The new merged business is a global provider of professional project and asset services in energy, chemicals and resources, employing 57 600 people across 51 countries worldwide.
In Europe, the acquisition brings together a highly skilled workforce servicing the hydrocarbons sector in The Hague and Aberdeen, the chemicals sector in Belgium and Germany and the minerals sector in the United Kingdom.
Commenting on the news, CEO Andrew Wood said: “This acquisition is about more than capacity and capability. It’s about opportunity. The opportunity to become the partner of choice for our customers, the employer of choice for our people and to deliver enhanced returns for our shareholders.
“Our new brand reflects our place at the forefront of the energy, chemicals and resources markets and our ability to support our customers through the global energy transition. We plan to embrace the heritage of both WorleyParsons and Jacobs ECR while looking firmly ahead to, what promises to be, an exciting future as one entity.”
President Europe Paul Seaton said: “Thanks to our increased global footprint, we can help our customers all over the world, bringing them an even greater level of expertise, while providing the flexibility and agility that we are known for.
“The acquisition further strengthens our ability to provide an outstanding service, particularly to the world’s leading chemicals companies, many of which are based in central Europe.”
Worley’s expansion in other markets including the Middle East, North America, Canada, and India means it will have greater global reach, with strong market positions in the energy, chemical and resources sectors.
