Mammoet completes polypropylene contract

Published by
Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Mammoet has safely installed two reactors utilising a LR13000 crawler crane inside a Gulf Coast polypropylene plant that is currently undergoing an expansion. Following the project’s expected completion in 1Q20, the expansion will increase the site’s production capacity by an additional 450 000 tpy. Due to the LR13000’s high lifting capacity, only a boom change was required to streamline lifting from one location, saving both space and time for other work taking place inside the plant.

With its 96 m power boom, the crane was strategically placed to lift and install both reactors from one position. The crane will remain stationary for a second round of lifts to take place in mid-July.
