Red Sea Co. awards services contract for refining and petrochemicals complex

Red Sea National Refining and Petrochemicals Co. (Red Sea Co.) has awarded Worley a services contract for a greenfield integrated refinery and petrochemicals complex in Egypt.

The project, which will be located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, will convert an estimated 4 million tpy of crude oil into refined products and petrochemicals. These include jet fuel, low sulfur fuel oil, polyethylene, paraxylene, and monoethylene glycol.

Under the contract, Worley will provide project management consultancy (PMC) services for the early front-end engineering design (pre-FEED), front-end engineering design (FEED), and the detailed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) phases of the project.

The services will be executed by Worley’s Egypt and UK offices with support from Worley’s Global Integrated Delivery team.
