ODE Asset Management Ltd (ODE AM), part of the DORIS Group, has been awarded a contract with Interconnector (UK) Ltd (IUK) for the provision of Integrity Management services.
The contract is for an initial five-year period to provide Integrity Management, onsite inspection and non-destructive testing services, and acting as Competent Person in accordance with the UK’s Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSRs).
The contract award comes after significant investment in bespoke Asset Integrity Management software to optimise inspection intervals. ODE AM developed the software based on the principles of API580 Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and to align with its principles of maximum value from every asset with zero harm to people or the environment.
Shaun Hutchinson, ODE AM’s Regional Operations Director, said: “A traditional RBI regime is great for extending inspection intervals but is labour intensive and requires high levels of technical resource to perform complex calculations. Our intention with this system was to do all of this work in advance as part of our investment meaning the user interface is a series of intuitive, drop-down boxes, providing optimised risk-based equipment inspection intervals. We are confident that this approach along with our non-intrusive inspection approach will result in extended inspection intervals, reduced outages, increased uptime and provide significant savings to our clients.”
IUK’s Bacton Terminal is currently the largest entry and exit point on the UK gas network, capable of pumping up to 58 million m3/d of gas.
Sandy Reid, ODE AM’s Managing Director, noted: “We are pleased to be entering into a partnership with Interconnector (UK) Ltd. ODE AM actively seeks out opportunities in the oil and gas industry to innovate and improve. We look forward to employing, and seeing the results of, our tailored software being used at the Bacton Terminal for the first time.”
He continued: “This will also be an important prospect for us at ODE AM to further develop our Integrity Management Team and better integrate with our supply chain, particularly our inspection partner. We also look forward to the opportunity of demonstrating the true value benefits of our bespoke service as we work with Interconnector UK in the years ahead.”
Steve Turner, Managing Director of Interconnector (UK) Ltd said: “Integrity Management is a key service supporting our commitment to safe and efficient operations. Interconnector is pleased to have awarded ODE Asset Management this contract. We look forward to our future partnership and our joint focus on optimising the integrity management of Interconnector’s Bacton Terminal facilities.”
