On 11 June, Downstream 2019 opens at the George R Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, US, with 10 000 attendees descending on the GRB for two days.
The event encompasses 350 exhibition stands, three conference tracks, and an interactive exhibition.
In a new headline session on the opening morning, ExxonMobil, Cheniere Energy, SABIC, Meridian Energy Group and Bechtel will be planning for a new era of capital project sustainability. They will be examining the steps that major development, EPC and regional stakeholders can do to support sustainability of the capital projects market, including efforts to revitalise craft labour and ensure industry competitiveness of projects large and small.
They will present their experiences on how to meet the challenge of cost escalation throughout design, construction and engineering - including a high-level exploration of the challenges and successes of modularisation, project digitisation and productivity optimisation. Attendees will hear critical lessons learned from the most recent Downstream investment book, and what indicators this provides for the value of the next wave of projects on the US Gulf Coast.
