Pentair Valves & Controls has introduced the Pentair University customer education programme for past, present and prospective clients and industry leaders in various locations throughout the world. The mission of Pentair University is to showcase Pentair’s technology leadership and share the depth of experience and intellectual capital that resides within Pentair engineering and technical subject matter experts all over the world.

Launched in 2015 and expanded this year, Pentair University has been well received by customers. Pentair University is a platform that engages seminar attendees in a private and professional, yet relaxed setting that is conducive to technical information sharing and relationship building. Pentair University’s invitation only seminars are free to attend. In some regions of the world, Pentair University attendees earn continuing education units (CEUs) to help them maintain their engineering certifications.

Through these one day seminars that are held in or nearby a customer’s facility, Pentair’s engineering and technical leaders are able to address specific customer needs and concerns across multiple industry sectors and areas of specialisation. Pentair University focuses on presentations and demonstrations related to Pentair’s valve and control products and solutions as well as quality, safety, compliance, and best practices, which includes processes and procedures related to automation and standardisation.

’Get It Right the First Time’ is an example of a Pentair University presentation that covers hard facing industry issues, triple offset valves for power and steam (steam balancing and steam turbine trip), globe versus ball valve cost benefits, steam temperature control – probe versus ring type and turbine bypass, high temperature pilot operated safety valve design and isolation valves design standards and applications.

“By getting ‘up close and personal’ with our customers with the Pentair University format, Pentair has created a ‘win-win’ scenario with benefits to everyone who participates. Pentair University enables our engineering and technical team members to provide the level of detail and direct access that our customers want and need. Our customers tell us that they value and appreciate this level of access to our engineering and technical experts -- many of whom have 20 to 30 years or more of uninterrupted industry experience,” explained Arvo Eilau, Power Marketing Manager for Pentair Valves and Controls.

Pentair has successfully hosted Pentair University seminars thus far in 2016 in Denver, Kansas City, the United Arab Emirates, and Thailand. Additional Pentair University seminars are planned for locations in Florida, North Carolina, Nevada, and Texas as well as cities in Canada, Qatar, Spain, and Turkey.

Eilau added, “One of our customers in Florida commented that Pentair University proved to be a platform for discussing industry issues and concerns in a personalised setting. Another customer from Kansas City commented that he found Pentair University to provide excellent information for both entry level and experienced engineers.”
