Burckhardt Compression will deliver a high-speed compressor to Ganzair in Hungary for injecting natural gas from a pipeline to an underground gas storage facility.
This ISO 13631 compliant compressor will be the first high-speed compressor made by Burckhardt Compression for this sort of application in Europe.
In December 2019, Burckhardt Compression sold its first high-speed compressor system in Europe that meets all the requirements of ISO 13631 standards. It will be the first compressor made by Burckhardt Compression for injecting natural gas from a pipeline to an underground gas storage facility. The single-stage compressor will be manufactured at Shenyang Yuanda Compressor, one of China's leading compressor manufacturers in which Burckhardt Compression owns a 60% stake.
Underground reservoirs are used to store large amounts of compressed natural gas along international pipeline networks for balancing fluctuations between gas supply and demand.
“We are pleased to expand our offering of compressor systems to this application area and that we can offer now solutions for gas pipeline to storage applications,” said Marcel Pawlicek, CEO of Burckhardt Compression.
"We are pleased with the product support and compressor expertise that Burckhardt Compression brings to our project. We are looking forward for a successful partnership", said Oliver Gidai, CEO of Ganzair.
