Westwood Professional Services Inc. (Westwood) has announced that it completed the acquisition of San Antonio-based civil engineering firm, Coursen-Koehler Engineering & Associates (Coursen-Koehler.)

Coursen-Koehler was established by Kerry J. Koehler, PE and Garth E. Coursen, PE in 2008. The two were able to grow the firm rapidly despite challenging economic conditions. They credit their success to a strong culture and team, delivering quality products and services to land developers, land owners, builders, architects, utility providers, and municipalities throughout the San Antonio area. Coursen-Koehler has provided full service engineering on many San Antonio residential housing developments; medical, office, industrial, and institutional facilities; and municipal projects.

Westwood is a multi-disciplined surveying and engineering firm serving clients across the nation in multiple markets. The acquisition expands Westwood’s land development operations in Texas and brings Coursen-Koehler’s clients added resources and unique services to complete their projects.

Coursen looks forward to leveraging Westwood’s national land development team, “I am excited about our decision to join Westwood. The acquisition will enable us to better serve our residential and commercial clients with more resources, in-house services, and unique qualifications from across the country; and our staff will benefit by having new opportunities to work in different markets and geographic locations.” Coursen is referring to Westwood’s wind, solar, power delivery, and oil, gas, and pipeline markets.
