Prospanica DC recently recognised Elia Quintana, API’s Director for Stakeholder Engagement, as a winner of the ‘40 Under 40 Award’ and the first recipient of the President’s Award for demonstrating leadership, service, and commitment to the advancement of the Latino community throughout the years.
“Elia is a modern-day leader who is committed to empowering others. Through her latest initiative at API, she helps to lift up students and professionals in traditionally underprivileged communities,” said Bill Koetzle, API Vice President of Federal Relations. “We are delighted to see Elia as a recipient of this important award for her outstanding community leadership work and know that she will continue her efforts for years to come.
“We applaud Prospanica for its continued commitment to creating opportunities and supporting professionals in the Latino community.”
At API, Ms Quintana is leading the Energy Research Collaborative (ERC) initiative – a programme that brings together partners from different fields and sectors, encouraging workforce development and engagement in the natural gas and oil industry with focus on Latinos and African Americans. Her work with ERC is one of numerous API initiatives focused on supporting professionals from traditionally underprivileged communities and students in the STEM field.
Prior to joining API, Elia served as a Vice President of Corporate Relations at the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) and as a Director at LULAC National Education Service Centers (LNESC), where she championed diversity and inclusion initiatives.
