US gasoline price: Week ending 11 August 2014

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has reported a decrease in the average price for retail gasoline. As of 11 August, the average cost was US$3.51/gal., down one cent from the week prior, and six cents less than the same time last year.

The Midwest price increased four cents to US$ 3.45/gal., while the Rocky Mountainaverage rose one cent to US$ 3.65/gal. The East Coast and Gulf Coast pricesboth decreased four cents, to US$ 3.47/gal. and US$ 3.27/gal., respectively.The West Coast price decreased two cents to US$ 3.87/gal.

Propane

USpropane stocks increased by 1.8 million bbls last week, to 70.3 million bbls asof 8 August 2014. This is 8.7 million bbls (13.7%) higher than a year ago. GulfCoast inventories increased by 1.3 million bbls and Midwest inventoriesincreased by 0.5 million bbls. Rocky Mountain and West Coast inventoriesincreased by 0.1 million bbls and East Coast inventories decreased by 0.1million bbls.<

Propylenenon-fuel use inventories represented 5.9% of total propane inventories.
