Shell orders ABB’s low-voltage switchgear and motor control centres

Hydrocarbon Engineering,

ABB has signed a five-year agreement with Shell to become its global single-source supplier of low-voltage switchgear, motor control centres and related services.

"This global agreement demonstrates that ABB’s commitment to provide premium low-voltage solutions and services creates value for a global company like Shell, focused on safety, reliability and energy efficiency,” said Tarak Mehta, Head of ABB’s Low Voltage Products division.

“Over 40 years of experience have gone into ABB switchgear designs. We have installed millions of units globally for our customers, in some of the world’s most harsh environments. The reliability of our products, together with our focus on supporting our customers’ service needs, were fundamental aspects in securing this important contract.”

Five-year global agreement

The five-year global agreement, with an option for an additional five-year extension, covers the sales, support and service of low-voltage switchgear and motor control centres across both IEC and NEMA geographies for greenfield and brownfield sites.

ABB’s Low Voltage Products division is a leading provider of protection, control and measurement solutions for a wide range of electrical installations, enclosures, switchboards, electronics and electromechanical devices across all major industries including the residential sector.
