Ritchie is an Australian executive with a distinguished international career, having more than 20 years of experience in the oil industry. He is currently Head of Strategy for Shell’s Global Trading and Supply Business.

EPA

The US EPA and the Hawaii State Department of Health (DOH) are continuing response operations to recover spilled jet fuel at the Airport Service Group International (ASIG) facility on Sand Island Access Road in Honolulu. EPA is leading the response effort and working with DOH’s Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response branch and ASIG. Response activities have so far resulted in the recovery of over 19 871 gal. of spilled jet fuel as of 2/8/15, with fuel recovery continuing.

Jet fuel recovery continues both inside and outside of the facility with fuel being pumped from extraction trenches and wells directly into vacuum trucks. The vacuum truck loads are taken offsite for processing at the Honolulu Airport fuel storage farm. Additional fuel recovery wells are currently being installed outside the facility. There continues to be no indication the spilled fuel has moved any closer to the near shore waters or Keehi Lagoon. Spill containment booms have been deployed in the waters near the facility as a precaution. The booms on the water are monitored daily for any signs of fuel, and there is no indication that the spill has migrated into the near shore waters or entered Keehi Lagoon.

DOH has reported that the fuel spill has not affected harbour activities and there are no closures. Boaters, fishermen, pier construction workers, office workers, wildlife and marine life are safe from the fuel spill as the fuel in underground. There are no drinking water wells in the area. Fuel recovery work will continue inside and outside the facility. Future plans call for an interceptor trench to be installed the full length of the area of concern between the onsite extraction trenches and the waterfront to insure that the jet fuel plume does not reach the near shore waters of Keehi Lagoon.

First Titan

First Titan Corp. (FTTN) has announced that the company will investigate diversifying its holdings portfolio with new alternative positions in the oil and gas sector. The company has begun weighing new opportunities to bring cutting edge gas to liquid technologies to the marketplace. Thanks to the North American shale gas boom and the delinking of oil and gas prices, FTTN has identified a viable growth opportunity in the conversion of low priced gas into high value transport fuels and other products. The company will weigh opportunities to add new gas to liquids assets to its energy portfolio in order to continue its growth trajectory during the current period of low oil prices. First Titan Corp. currently owns interests in oil and gas wells located in Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.

FTTN is building an asset base of oil and gas properties and is dedicated to continued development of energy assets throughout North America alongside companies such as Lucas Energy, Inc., Earthstone Energy, Inc., Fieldpoint Petroleum Corp. and Evolution Petroleum Corp.

Precision Polymer Engineering

PPE has announced the official opening of its new manufacturing facility in Brenham, Texas, on 12 February. The new site, which commenced production in November last year, manufactures high performance compression moulded components for the oil and gas industry as well as critical components for semiconductor and heavy equipment applications. The new 300 00 0ft2 site complements PPE’s existing manufacturing facility in the UK and will include its own tool making, extrusion and inspection departments in line with PPE’s flexible operating model. The new facility opening event will bring together members of the media, customers and key opinion leaders from the sealing industry at the site, with a BBQ and facility tours.
