GE has been named as Water Company of the Year at the annual Global Water Awards. The award recognises the water company that made the most significant contribution to the development of the international water sector in 2013.
GE representatives accepted the award at a dinner in April in Paris, France, during Global Water Intelligence’s Global Water Summit 2014. According to the awards program, ‘GE Water has transformed itself…into the most formidable industrial water company in the world, positioned at the centre of the water/energy nexus…GE Water has consistently placed itself at the cutting edge of innovation right across its portfolio. No one else proved so adept at turning challenges of the water/energy nexus into opportunities for corporate water users, utilities and the environment.’
Over the past five years, GE has received other Global Water Awards including Desalination Company of the Year, Industrial Water Project of the Year, Water Reuse Project of the Year and Water Efficiency Project of the Year.
