Amec Foster Wheeler has announced it has been awarded a front end engineering design (FEED) contract by Thai Oil Public Company Limited for its Clean Fuel Project at the Sriracha Refinery in Thailand. The contract is due for completion in 2Q17.

The project will enable a crude distillation capacity expansion from 275 000 bpd to 410 000 bpd and improvements to the energy efficiency of Thai Oil's refinery, as well as the production of transportation fuels to more stringent product quality specifications. This will be achieved with the installation of a number of new units, including Amec Foster Wheeler’s solvent deasphalting technology.

Roberto Penno, Group President for Asia, Middle East, Africa and Southern Europe said, “I’m proud to say that our 35 year track record with Thai Oil has covered the delivery of more than 40 projects. This latest contract, led by our well established operation in Sriracha, further reinforces our customer’s confidence in Amec Foster Wheeler to provide the highest quality services to their projects in Thailand”.

"We look forward to applying our global clean fuels expertise to support Thai Oil in achieving its objectives for this strategic project; increased output, efficiency improvement and production of cleaner, more valuable transportation fuels.”
