Lukoil constructs airport fuelling facility

Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Lukoil and the Sheremetyevo International Airport have successfully completed the construction of a new fuelling facility with a capacity of up to 1.2 million tpy.

??The tank battery, with a nominal volume of 20 000 m3 of jet fuel, is extendable to 25 000 m3. The project was implemented as part of the Sheremetyevo Airport Development and Modernization Program for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and for the future in general.

The fueling facility, including a system of pipelines with gates at the central ramp of the Sheremetyevo North Terminal Complex, allows for simultaneous refueling of up to 14 jumbo jets. The fueling facility is fitted with a modern automated process-control system. It also has an approach railway, its own laboratory for fuel-quality control and an automatic fire-extinguishing system.

While implementing the project, much attention was paid to environmental safety: the risk of any oil products and contaminated sediments escaping to soil has been completely eliminated.
