Nordic Freedom in Kozmino port

The tanker Nordic Freedom moored to berth two on 5 February 2017 at 03:30 Moscow time. The ship was loaded with a batch of 140 000 t of Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean (ESPO) oil. After that the tanker left for the People’s Republic of China.
Berth No. 2 of Transneft – Kozmino Port may receive tankers with the said deadweight due to revamping of the approach dam performed in 2016, which included dredging work. Thus, the ability of the port to receive and service large-capacity tankers was improved.
Berth No. 1 of Kozmino oil port was commissioned on 28 December 2009. In November 2012, after commissioning of berth No. 2 and performance of dredging work, the oil port started to receive two tankers at the same time: tankers with the deadweight from 80 - 150 000 t at berth No. 1 and tankers with the deadweight from 80 - 120 000 t at berth No. 2. Revamping of the approach dam completed in 2016, which included dredging work at berth two, made it possible to receive oil tankers with the deadweight up to 150 000 t at both berths.
