Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Chemoil will shortly commence physical bunker fuel supply operations from the Port of Brisbane in Queensland. From 23 June, Chemoil will also deploy a bunker barge, Valiant III, capable of supplying both marine fuel oil and marine gas oil, to support its operations and offer bunkering via barge in the port. Chemoil has signed a long-term terminal storage agreement with GrainCorp, while the barging operations will be undertaken by United Maritime Australia.

Mr Brett Crawford, Manager of Glencore Oil business in Australia said: “Our Chemoil business began operations in a number of ports in New South Wales in April and things are going well so far. We see a lot of potential in the east coast marine fuels market and the combination of our global network and marketing expertise allows us to efficiently and competitively source, ship, store, blend and deliver a broad range of fuels for our customers.”

“The addition of the Port of Brisbane will further strengthen Chemoil’s supply network throughout Australasia and is another important strategic step for us as we expand our offering to ship owners, cruise lines, brokers and agents,” said Mr Crawford.
