In this Spotlight interview, Callum O'Reilly, Senior Editor of Hydrocarbon Engineering, talks to Dr. Cecilia Mondelli, Global Head of CCUS at Sulzer Chemtech, and Stephen Shields, Head of Advanced Chemical Recycling at Sulzer Chemtech, about their article that featured in the March 2024 issue of Hydrocarbon Engineering magazine.


Titled: ‘The path forward: capitalising on decarbonisation opportunities’, this article looks at the most promising CCUS technologies, which offer multiple benefits that can go further than compliance with environmental regulations.

In this in-depth interview, Dr Mondelli and Mr Shields talk through some of the challenges that the hydrocarbon processing sector faces in terms of emissions, and explain how CCUS solutions can help to mitigate these impacts. They also explore how implementing CCUS facilities can help to transform a potential liability into a profitable venture for companies in the hydrocarbon processing sector.
