Hydrocarbon Engineering Spotlight with Watlow

Published by , Senior Editor
Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Hydrocarbon Engineering sat down with Miranda Pizzella Ph.D., Director of Watlow’s Sustainable Process Technologies business segment, to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities of industrial process heating.

We consider why process heating is such a critical element in industrial decarbonisation efforts, and some of the main challenges that industries face when transitioning from fossil fuel-based heating to electrified systems.

Miranda explores how medium voltage electric heating compares to traditional low-voltage systems in terms of efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and looks at what differentiates Watlow’s POWERSAFE system in industrial heating electrification.

We also consider how predictive maintenance, such as Watlow’s ThermalWatch technology, contributes to improving the reliability of electrified heating systems.
