CITGO Petroleum Corp. has announced that its Lubricants Manufacturing Plant in Oklahoma City, US, has achieved a new record of no lost work days.
In February 2018, the plant marked 2271 consecutive days without a lost work day, as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), beating the plant's previous record, set between 12 September 2005 and 1 December 2011.
Lost work days is a significant safety metric within the energy industry and this accomplishment exemplifies a solid reputation for safety, both for the corporation and the Oklahoma City plant.
"This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our company and employees to the highest safety standards," said Acacio Rodriguez, General Manager of CITGO Lubricants. "We thank the entire Oklahoma City CITGO team for their commitment to ensuring a safe workplace and look forward to continuing to lead the industry in setting new safety records."
The Oklahoma City plant has received several awards for outstanding safety performance, including from the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM).
