Victory Energy, a leading manufacturer of industrial boilers and heat recovery products, recently completed a 35 000 ft2 expansion at their Collinsville, Oklahoma headquarters. The expansion project began in October of 2015 and was completed in June 2016.

The need for the expansion of Victory Energy's manufacturing footprint was the direct result of increased market demand for the company's products. "Our customers are asking us to produce far larger and incredibly more complex boiler products. They're utilising us for a greater percentage of product solutions throughout their facilities. We needed to increase the size of our operation to directly respond to the market requirement," stated John Viskup, President and CEO.

The expansion connected two existing buildings into one structure with 41 ft ceilings that utilises 75 t cranes to move boilers throughout the facility. The increased ceiling height allows for the manufacture of far larger units, including the line of Victory Energy GT-HRSG products. A second dedicated rail spur connects the new manufacturing addition to the rail line that runs parallel to the facility. The new building includes radiant heat flooring and LED lighting, making it one of the most environmentally friendly boiler manufacturing operations in the US.

Significant manufacturing equipment investments were made as integral parts of the expansion aimed at increasing plant efficiency and lowering product lead times. It is part of a concentrated lean initiative to be the best boiler manufacturing company through continual improvement.

A new horizontal boring mill now allows for automated drilling of inner tubes in less than a day, which previously was done manually and often took three to four weeks. Future initiatives include the addition of a testing facility to fire boilers prior to shipment to the customer which reduces startup and commissioning time on site.

"The expansion is another example of the Victory Energy's commitment to being the preeminent supplier of the world's best boiler and heat recovery product solutions. The facility is a showcase which impresses customers when they visit the plant. Every action that we take as a company is aimed at making Victory Energy more competitive and preferred by customers," added Viskup.
