Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Dresser-Rand, a global supplier of rotating equipment solutions to the oil, gas, petrochemical, power, and process industries, has released its 2015 training schedule, which includes a comprehensive list of product training programs designed to help clients reduce equipment maintenance costs and ensure product reliability.

Designed for a wide range of client operations, maintenance and reliability-engineering personnel, Dresser-Rand product training programs are offered for centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, low-speed process gas reciprocating compressors, high-speed separable gas field compressors, control systems, gas engines and active magnetic bearings.

Full-time instructors employ “building block” and “team teaching” techniques that range from equipment fundamentals for the new employee to complete machinery overhauls and design concepts for more experienced attendees.

In addition to open registration classes, Dresser-Rand offers on-site, custom training tailored specifically to the client’s desired class dates, number of students, student mix (operators, mechanics, engineers, etc.), student experience level, machine-specific technical information, overall job scope, and any special transportation/shipping requirements.

Customised training programs specific to a client’s machinery can also be arranged.

In the United States and Canada, hands-on training features portable training units and workstations that include full-size Dresser-Rand equipment that can be transported directly to the client’s facility to reduce overall training costs and associated trainee travel expense.

If there is a group of people to be trained from a specific facility, Dresser-Rand will research the equipment records and provide a program that is matched to that specific machinery.

Web-based Training

Dresser-Rand also offers a variety of web-based training (WBT) courses that cover the operation and maintenance of reciprocating compressors, steam turbines and turbomachinery. These courses are designed for the intermediate to advanced level student and include many learning activities that enhance knowledge retention.

Thanks to its established business relationship with DuPont Sustainable Solutions, a recognised leader in flexible learning solutions, Dresser-Rand WBT courses will be delivered using the award-winning DuPont™ eLearning Suite format. All courses are AICC- and SCORM-certified, and enable integration with a variety of learning management systems.
