ExxonMobil suffers another pipeline leak

On Sunday 17 July, Exxon Mobil has suffered another pipeline leak at its petrochemical complex in Houston, Texas. Residents in Baytown had to stay in their homes during a shelter that was later lifted.

Exxon released a statement stating that the company had “shut down two chemical product pipelines in Baytown this morning to investigate a release. We are working with local emergency responders and closely with local officials to ensure the safety of the public. We are continuing to study the source of the release”.
