Hydrocarbon Engineering,

2026 proudly marks 125 years since the foundation of Sandvik Process Systems in 1901 - an origin that laid the groundwork for what IPCO is today.

This milestone celebrates more than a century of engineering excellence, innovation, and commitment to delivering solutions that shape industries worldwide.

The journey began in Sandviken, Sweden, in 1901 with the manufacture of the world’s first bendable steel belt, an innovation that would revolutionise industrial processes and establish a legacy of technical leadership that continues to this day. From this pioneering moment, the company has consistently pushed boundaries, introducing breakthroughs such as the world’s first stainless steel belt in 1931, the first double-belt press in 1966, and the Rotoform in 1980.

Today, IPCO continues to build on this heritage, delivering advanced industrial process solutions across the globe while still manufacturing bendable steel belts – a testament to the enduring relevance of its original innovation.

The 125-year anniversary marks the beginning of a year-long global celebration, bringing together employees, customers, and partners across regions including Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. Events throughout 2026 will highlight IPCO’s history, achievements, and future ambitions.
