ASTM International has been awarded Accredited Provider status by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). IACET Accredited Providers are the only organisations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The recognition period extends for five years and includes programmes offered or created during that time.
“ASTM is proud of our award winning continuing education programmes for industry and government. Already, we equip thousands of professionals each year with important technical skills to help our customers stay on the cutting edge in fields such as petroleum, the environment and construction,” says James Thomas, President of ASTM International. “Our new partnership with IACET reflects our commitment to lifelong learning and to high quality programmes. We are excited to join an elite group of organisations that offer world class continuing education and training programmes.”
“We are pleased to welcome ASTM as our newest Accredited Provider organisation,” says Francenia Johnson, President of IACET and supervisor of operations and measurements at Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division (MLGW) in Memphis, Tennessee. “ASTM International joins nearly 650 organisations around the globe that have had their programmes vetted by third party experts in continuing education to ensure the highest possible standards are met.”
In order to achieve Accredited Provider status, ASTM completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard addressing the design, development, administration and evaluation of its programs. ASTM has pledged continued compliance with the standard and is now authorized to use the IACET name and Accredited Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, ASTM is now linked to the IACET website and is recognised as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programmes.
