Hydrocarbon Engineering,
ClearSign Combustion Corp. has successfully completed the initial installation of its Duplex™ technology in a multiple-burner, vertical-cylindrical production process heater located in a refinery in California, US.
This installation will allow the refinery to meet environmental regulations regarding emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and carbon monoxide (CO), and preliminary results have shown a significant reduction in NOx without the need for flue gas recirculation (FGR) or selective catalytic reduction (SCR). In order to reach the stated objectives of 6 ppm NOx, additional testing will continue to optimise the technology.
The installation took place during the customer’s downtime period and was returned to full production while testing continues.
