The World Refining Association (WRA) has announced that the 17th edition of its Abu Dhabi International Downstream (ADID) Summit & Exhibition will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi from 8 - 10 May.

The summit, which is the longest running downstream event in the Middle East, will continue to focus on the region’s core goal of locking in deeper value from further integration between refining and petrochemicals. ADID has once again been specifically designed to connect international technology and service providers with the region’s leading integrated refining and petrochemical operators, including Sadara Chemical Company, Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, Borouge and KNPC, which are all continuing to invest in their projects, despite challenging times.

This year’s themes focus on all of the biggest challenges facing the industry at the moment, from realigning downstream strategies and further integration between refining and petrochemicals, to increasingly stringent global fuel standards, changing feedstock dynamics and the economic slowdown in China.

The speaker lineup includes: Jose Manuel Martinez, Chief Executive Officer, CEPSA; Quimica, Mohammed Alazzaz, Value Park Director, Sadara Chemical Company; Philippe Roodhooft, Chief Operating Officer, Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge); Fuad Mosa, GM Global Technology Management, SABIC; Matthew George, Head of Petrochemical Exports, Indian Oil Corporation, as well as senior representatives from Saudi Aramco, Eni Spa, Sinopec, ETHYDCO and many more.

As well as an unparalleled lineup of senior executives from the world’s leading downstream operators, the summit is also sponsored by global international technology companies including: Axens, Shell Global Solutions, Criterion, ExxonMobil, Baker Hughes, Albemarle, Johnson Matthey, Schneider Electric, BASF, Grace and Albemarle which will all be sharing the latest technologies and innovations that can help reduce downtime and maximise margins.
