Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) has announced its successful award as licensor of the residue and VGO hydrocracking units for Thai Oil Public Company Limited’s expansion of its existing Sriracha refinery, located in Chonburi, Thailand.

The license includes a 4.2 million tpy LC-MAX residue upgrading unit and a 5.5 million tpy ISOCRACKING unit. The integrated plant will produce Euro V compliant products and is the second grassroots LC-MAX unit to utilise CLG’s modern technology. The unit is ‘a core section of Thai Oil’s Sriracha refinery investment’ as part of the company’s residue upgrading project. Thai Oil has been in the process of developing the process design before proceeding to front end engineering design. It is expected that the study will be completed by the end of 2016.
