HTRI, a leading source of process heat transfer technology, research, software and services, has been granted ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), as defined by Scope of Accreditation Certificate 39996.01.

Achievement of A2LA accreditation demonstrates HTRI’s competence to manage and perform mechanical tests on liquid to liquid heat exchangers using The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Standard 400. Tests are conducted on HTRI’s liquid to liquid heat exchanger research unit, which is the largest capacity rig at the company’s research facility, with a maximum flow rate of 1200 gal./min and a maximum duty of 16 million Btu/hr.

Claudette D. Beyer, HTRI President and CEO, said, “We are pleased to receive this formal recognition of our ability to produce accurate test data, and to offer our customers a controlled and thoroughly evaluated test program.”

Laboratory accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 covers the same quality management system principles that are addressed in ISO 9001 registration, and is based on the internationally accepted standard used for evaluation of laboratories throughout the world. To fulfil the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005, a laboratory must meet both the technical competence requirements and management system requirements that are necessary for it to consistently deliver technically valid test results.

The A2LA provides internationally recognised accreditation services that meet standards and requirements developed with government and industry collaboration.
