Hempel opens R&D facility in Barcelona

On 29 November 2018, coatings manufacturer Hempel officially opened its new ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Barcelona, Spain.
The centre's focus will be on the research and development of coating products within the field of passive fire protection, in which Hempel aims to gain market share during the next few years.
Hempel has invested €6 million in the 3000 m2 laboratory, testing areas and offices.
When fully operational, the PFP centre will employ more than 30 technicians, fire testers, applicators, scientists and chartered engineers.
