Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. commenced production of styrenic thermoplastic elastomer (TPS) at Mitsubishi Chemical Performance Polymers (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in January 2018.
With this production launch, the company’s lineup of TPSs in Thailand will expand to four brands, which will allow it to offer a wider range of solutions with shorter lead times.
TEFABLOC™ thermoplastic elastomers can be used in a wide range of fields such as automobiles, building materials, electronic devices, food packaging, and healthcare. They are currently manufactured in Japan, China, the US, Europe and Brazil.
In Southeast Asia, the company currently supplies TPSs by exporting from those markets of manufacture. However, demand in the region has increased in recent years. To meet this robust market demand, Mitsubishi Chemical Corp decided to start TPS production in Thailand, a rapidly growing country. The company plans to continue expanding its TPS lineup to meet the diverse needs of our customers and accelerate the growth of its performance polymers business.
