Albemarle Corp has announced the commercial availability of its KF 774 PULSAR™ hydrotreating catalyst.
Catalyst development is a continuous and collaborative process. KF 774 PULSAR™, developed together with Albemarle’s joint venture (JV), Nippon Ketjen, is a catalyst that utilises an active phase technology with extremely high metals dispersion and efficiency that provides added flexibility in current refinery operations. The catalysts in the PULSAR™ family, KF 787 and KF 774, can be used in combination as part of Albemarle’s STAX® capability to tailor performance to specific refinery operational needs.
KF 774 PULSAR™ is Albemarle and Nippon Ketjen’s newest Catalyst Technology introduction. Previously, Albemarle introduced the ACTION+ Catalyst Technology, which provides maximum LPG olefinicity with strong butylene/propylene selectivity and preserves those species which maximise gasoline octane in a fluid catalytic cracking/fluid catalytic cracking unit.
