FS Elliott Co., LLC has announced the release of the R1000, the newest addition to the Regulus® control system line for centrifugal compressors.
The R1000 will come as standard on FS-Elliott’s Polaris+ line of centrifugal compressors and is the first control system in the industry to feature a 9 in., full touchscreen display.
The R1000 features ambient compensation control, a local control mode designed to automatically adjust the compressor set point based on changes in ambient conditions. This introduces a dynamic element to the traditionally static surge control line, allowing the compressor to be safely controlled closer to the true surge line. The control minimizes waste by maximizing turn down and minimizing bypass air, ensuring energy savings at off peak operation.
Another feature of the R1000 is pressure band optimization to avoid unnecessary discharge by optimizing the amount of air produced based on the minimum pressure required to meet system demand.
Integrated compressor control adjust performance by assigning lead and lag machines according to system demand, Automating a lead and lag process can help to eliminate excessive air pollution, and minimize bypass air, while reducing energy consumption.
Michael Cobak, Manager of Engineering Services, commented: “The R1000 represents a leap forward and sets a new standard for compressor control system. The vast majority of operators that utilize the advanced feature set of the R1000 will see significant energy savings over traditional control technology.”
