NAPCON introduces AI to the process industry

Published by , Assistant Editor
Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Neste's NAPCON has welcomed products that utilise modern artificial intelligence for the process industry.

The company’s solutions tap into the information network of facilities, read all inputs and optimise the facility in real time. Everything happens in a matter of seconds, exceeding human capabilities in optimisation. Artificial intelligence is utilised to model and understand physical reactions and phenomena within a production process.

The newest addition to this product family is NAPCON Games, which aims to apply simulations that are based on real life phenomena to enhance operator performance.

NAPCON Games Distiller, a process operator game, encourages operators around the world to prove their skills by playing. The finals of Operator World Cup 2017 will be held in Houston, Texas, US, on 8 February 2018 between operators from Neste and MOL Group. The Operator World Cup 2018 will start in the spring. To encourage all operators to join, the game will be available for a free 30-day trial.
