Westlock Controls announces new addition to ICoT 6000 series

Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Westlock Controls has announced the release of a new addition to its ICoT smart valve positioner 6000 series.

The ICoT 6000 provides wasy access to wiring terminal connectors, easily accommodated large stroke valves such as knife gates and is available with an internal 3 button interface and graphical LCD visible through an explosion proof site glass for easy calibration and information display.

The positioners are now designed with strong aluminium and stainless steel enclosures and are certified explosion proof to global standards. In addition, the positioners comply with US NEC standards as well as ATEX, IEC and INMETRO certification for the rest of the world.

The positioners suit both spring return and double acting actuators for rotary and linear valves. Non-contact position measurement via a Hall Effect sensor means that the ICoT 6000 eliminates the need for drive arms and linkages and increases overall resolution. Additionally, its design is energy efficient, using less than 12 mA and the minimum amount of control air.

Mike Lutolf, Global Product Manager – Controls, commented: “We are pleased to announce the new addition to the ICoT 6000 range. The explosion proof certification and enhanced strength of the positioner’s enclosures ensure maximum protection and reliability in a number of hazardous applications.

“Offering intelligent calibration and control, the ICoT smart valve series aims to provide the user with a truly open, independent and interoperable solution able to interface with difference host system brands and vendors”.
