Chart adds CNG option to skid mounted LNG fuelling station

With vehicle fleet and ferry operators taking advantage of the environmental and economic benefits of switching to natural gas in ever increasing numbers, Chart’s latest commitment to ensuring that the fuelling infrastructure continues to keep pace is the addition of a Liquefied Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) fuelling option to its skid mounted LNG fuelling station, making it suitable for both LNG and CNG fuelled vehicles.

Because the station is skid mounted, installation and commissioning are reduced to a few days, civil works are hugely simplified, with resultant massive cost savings, and the complete station can be easily relocated to another location, if required. It is an ideal fuelling solution for vehicle fleet bases, remote locations and small ports, as well as being an excellent temporary fuelling solution, either until a permanent station is built, or as a stop-gap until demand dictates a requirement for a larger, permanent station.

Safety and reliability are paramount, and this highly compact system comes fully loaded with the latest technology, including fully automated operation, remote control access and submerged pump for a fast refuelling action. The station also incorporates the Flowcom 3000 dispenser, designed and built by Chart’s German based subsidiary Flow Instruments GmbH, for guaranteed highly accurate metering and measuring.

Initially launched three years ago, the skid mounted LNG fuelling station is in service in a number of European locations and current backlog includes an order from Prima LNG for two further stations, which will be installed in the UK for Calor Gas Ltd.
