Marko Pekkola has been appointed Vice President of Production in Neste's Oil Products business area. Meanwhile, Jukka Kanerva, the current Vice President of Production, will lead the major turnaround project that is planned for the company’s Porvoo production facilities in 2020. These changes in positions will enter into force on a date to be specified later (in February 2018 at the latest).
Pekkola will transfer to the position from Stora Enso where he worked as Senior Vice President, Head of Operations in the Consumer Board Division. He has extensive experience in the management of production operations in the process industry. He will be in charge of Neste's refining entity in Porvoo and Naantali.
"This autumn, we will complete the planned production structure change of our refineries in Finland, integrating the operations of Porvoo and Naantali refineries closer together. Marko Pekkola will lead the development of refining entity competitiveness, while Jukka Kanerva will lead the next major turnaround of the Porvoo refinery. We are happy that we have skilled and experienced people to lead both of these areas that are important in terms of our strategy," says Matti Lehmus, Executive Vice President of Neste's Oil Products business area.
