Fotech to present at China International Shale Gas Summit

Fotech Solutions will be attending China International Shale Gas Summit on 29 - 30 October 2015 in Beijing, China. Fotech’s Product Line Director, Oil & Gas, Stuart Large, has been confirmed as Chairman for the opening day and he will present an introduction to fibre-based hydraulic fracturing technology on the second day.

As part of his presentation, Stuart will be discussing how Fotech’s Helios® Distributed Acoustic Sensor (DAS) technology enhances downhole operations, and hydraulic fracturing in particular, by providing accurate and actionable information to well operators in real-time.

Helios DAS gives operators increased visibility of the entire well, providing data and interpretative tools that add a new layer of intelligence to the lifecycle of a well. With an accuracy of 1-2 m, DAS not only assures engineers that the process is being carried out safely and efficiently, but also confirms if any down-hole events need to be addressed.

For example, Helios DAS can be used to optimise cluster spacing and refine pumping schedules to enhance well output, and show operators where integrity issues are causing cross stage communication as soon as an issue arises, enabling them to act in an efficient and timely manner.

China International Shale Gas Summit 2015 is Asia’s leading shale gas conference. Now in it’s fourth iteration, the summit will welcome nearly 300 decision makers within the Oil & Gas industry.
